Day 1: Arrival in Hanoi
Our local guide meets the group at Noi Bai Airport and transfers everyone to the hotel. The rest of the day is free to rest after the flight.

Day 2: Hanoi Orientation & National Hospital Visit (B, L, D)
The morning opens with an orientation session and a workshop introducing the Vietnamese health system — how it is structured, how it is funded, and what pressures it currently faces.
In the afternoon, the group visits a major national hospital in Hanoi. Starting at the top of the system gives students the reference point they need for everything that follows in the villages.

Day 3: Hanoi to Mai Chau & District Hospital Orientation (B, L, D)
The group departs Hanoi for Hoa Binh province, stopping en route at the Museum of Ethnology for an introduction to Vietnam’s ethnic diversity — essential context for the communities ahead.
On arrival, students check into the stilted guesthouse that will be home for the coming days, then visit the local hospital for an orientation with staff. Dinner is taken together at the guesthouse.

Day 4: District Hospital Placement (B, L, D)
A full day at the district hospital, observing how a rural facility operates and what it can and cannot do without the resources available in Hanoi. The contrast with Day 2 is the lesson.

Days 5 – 6: Community Health Placement (B, L, D)
The placement moves to the village clinic, reached by bicycle each morning through the valley. Students work alongside local health staff across two full days, seeing primary care delivered at the level most people actually meet it.
Evenings are spent back at the guesthouse over dinner and group reflection.

Day 7: Weekend at Leisure in Mai Chau (B)
A free day at the lodge. Time to rest, process the first week, and take in the Mai Chau valley — one of the most striking landscapes in northern Vietnam.

Day 8: Return to the Village (B, D)
The day is free until the afternoon transfer back out to the village, ready for the outreach clinic placement beginning tomorrow. Dinner together at the guesthouse.

Days 9 – 12: Community Health Placement (B, L, D)
Four full days at the clinic. By this stage students are familiar faces in the village, and the work shifts from observing to genuinely participating in the rhythm of the clinic.
Meals are taken on site with the team, and daily reflection continues throughout.

Day 13: Clinic Work & Health Promotion (B, L)
A final morning of clinic work, followed by an afternoon focused on health promotion — the preventive side of rural healthcare, and where a visiting group can add the most value.
The group returns to Mai Chau for the weekend.

Day 14: Weekend at Leisure (B)
A second free day at the lodge to rest and regroup before the final placement.
Meals included: Breakfast
Day 15: Transfer to the Second Community (B, D)
Free until the afternoon transfer to a second village community. The evening begins with a cooking class and dinner prepared together with the host families.
Meals included: Breakfast, Dinner
Days 16 – 18: Community Health Placement (B, L, D)
Three full days at the clinic in the second community. A different village, a different patient population, and a chance for students to test what they learned in the first placement against a new setting.

Day 19: Return to Hanoi (B, L)
After breakfast and farewells, the group packs up and travels back to Hanoi. The afternoon is free.

Day 20: Hanoi City Tour (B, L)
A half-day tour of the capital, followed by lunch at KOTO — a social enterprise restaurant that trains disadvantaged young Vietnamese in hospitality, and a fitting close to a program built around community.

Day 21: Departure (B)
A free morning before the transfer to Noi Bai Airport for onward flights. End of services.
